KOrganizer plugin

KOrganizer is the calendar and scheduling portion of Aethera. In full cooperation with the KOrganizer developers we have abstracted a multi-platform layer that allows us to easily integrate it into Aethera as a native component.

Using KOrganizer you can schedule appoments, events and to-do tasks to better organize your time.

Activate the plugin

To activate the KOrganizer plugin just click on it's icon located by default on the left hand side of the Aethera application. Every icon on this toolbar represents a plugin.

User interface basics

As all Aethera plugins the KOrganizer has a folder tree located by default at the left of the work area. The purpose of the folder tree is to allow you to organize your time more easilly.

You can create a "New folder" by right-clicking on the parent folder in the folder tree and then selecting "New folder" in the context menu.

To create a new calendar select "File new". You will asked to provide a name for your calendar. The new calendar will be placed in the root folder.

After you selected a calendar in the calendar list view this will displayed in the main work area. You can choose to view your calendar in different view. You can change the view by clicking the buttons

You can navigate through your calendar back and forward with buttons.

To add a new event to your current calendar click the new event icon or select "New event" under the "Actions" menu.

To add a new event:

Fill the information required. Use the General, Attendees and Recurrence tab to move arround.

To add a new to-do you have to click the or access the to-do dialog from the "New to-do" under the "Actions" menu. Enter the information that you whant.

Settings

Because the KOrganizer plugin was ported from KDE the settings is not integrated with Aethera. You can access the setting under the "Settings->Configure KOraganizer" menu.

Use the tabs to navigate through the settings dialog. You can set things like your personal information, colors, and font.

The KOrganizer plugin also offers an Alarm Deamon. You can start the deamon under the "Settings->Alaram Deamon" menu. If the deamon is started it will check all your calendars every 1 minute. If you have any events a message will be displyed in the application status bar.
